How do credit unions work?

Regular savings by Members create a common pool of money, which in turn is used to provide low interest loans to members.

How do I save?

Members are encouraged to save regular, there is no set amount, you can save as little or as much as you like. Any direct payments, i.e. benefits, pensions or salaries, can be paid straight into your account.

Is my money safe?

Yes! All money paid into your credit union savings account is safe and secure as we are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). This means that in the unlikely event that we close down every member has a claim in respect to their shares balance.

Withdrawals ...

Direct payments may be withdrawn from the Avenue Road office on the day they are received into your account.

Members not receiving direct payments into their accounts are required to give 7 (seven) days notice to withdraw their savings.

"Ollie" the Owlet says you are never too young to start saving. Saving Clubs are run in local Schools and Accounts can be opened by children from birth.
